What are your dreams?

I just finished watching tonight's episode of American Inventors. For those of you who watched it as well, does it make you dream?

It's a classic story of the American spirit. The desire to see your dream through to completion. So many of these people have hopes, dreams - and passion to bring their one big idea as far as it will go.

Have you ever had that big idea? What have you done to act on it?

The one big thing that American Inventors brings to the public is the idea that dreaming is a wonderful thing. The only way your dreams will become a reality is to take action, and see how far you can go.

And for that I say "congratulations" to all of the dreamers and inventors.

Not Another Cell Phone

Well, it's finally here. As I was reading my Wall Street Journal this morning, an article announced that airlines are almost at the point of being able to allow people to use their cell phones in-flight.

Can you imagine the chaos?

The woman to your right will be yelling into the phone, trying to communicate with her realtor on which style house she prefers.

The man on your left will be yelling into the phone, trying to communicate with his assistant about the latest business items.

Then there's the woman in front of you, the man behind you, the woman across the aisle...

My head hurts already.

How about a teleclass on cell phone etiquette? Or an ebook on dealing with cell phone rage?

Or maybe there's another reason for using cell phones...

Taking a step back

Last night Andrew and I did something we haven't done in awhile. We went out to a nice (not kid-friendly) restaurant, and spent 3 hours enjoying a meal.

And yes, we did discuss a lot of business. But as we sat and enjoyed ourselves, the ideas started to flow. We came up with several new ideas, decided to forgoe a number of things we had been working on, and walked away with a clearer idea of where we're taking our business over the coming months.

When was the last time you took a step back? It doesn't have to be a week in the Carribbean. It can just be a nice, relaxing evening. And if you love what you do as much as we do, talking "business" can be a part of your enjoyable evening.

The Art of being a Minipreneur

If your one of the 'lucky' who has been laid off from a job, or has ever been downsized from the corporate world, I congratulate you.

You see, you were given an opportunity on that day. The opportunity to start your own business, and become self-sufficient - to no longer rely on a 'job' for income.

As more people discover how easy it is to hold mini jobs on the side, they will soon discover that it's much more fun to have several mini-jobs that add up to a career - and a very steady income.

Take a look at a recent post on minipreneurs - http://www.trendwatching.com/trends/MINIPRENEURS.htm

It seems there is an increasingly large amount of consumers that are participating in making money by turning into small entrepreneurs. They make a small amount of money by creating side businesses, that eventually add up to a whole lot of money.

Young people are already loving this trend, but as the boomers continue to grab on, watch out. The age of minipreneurship will become the norm.

And they will all need our services to learn how to become better marketers and better networkers!
